Summary

Metal-detecting between 1995 and 2016 recovered Roman pottery sherds; undated copper alloy metal-working debris; Iron Age, Roman and medieval coins; a medieval jetton and undated and Iron Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include an undated unidentified lead plaque; an Iron Age toggle; Roman brooches, steelyard fragments, a steelyard weight and buckle; a Roman/Early Saxon military buckle; an Early Saxon brooch; a Middle Saxon pin; a Late Saxon strap-end; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval brooch, harness fitting, harness mount and lead ampulla; a medieval/post-medieval Jew's harp and a post-medieval furniture fitting, book clasp, ring and harness mount.

1) Part of spacer plate from a circular composite strap end degenerate acorn-shaped terminal with collar. 14th century.
2) Unusual object, possibly the remains of an openwork buckle-plate constructed so as to require spindle. Ribbed decoration. ?Roman or post medieval? (construction unlike any medieval buckle).
3) Lead ampulla, incomplete and corroded. Obverse shield with chevron with feather or plant stem border. Reverse oblique lines. 12th-14th century.
