Summary

Metal detecting on this site has recovered a 13th century lead oval seal matrix. The matrix is inscribed SIG RICARD F THEBAL ('The seal of Richard son of Thebal' (or Theobald)).

13th century lead seal.
Stated to have been 'reported direct to NAU' but no records under finder's name and no seal answering to this description from Aslacton. Note that previous finds marked Aslacton which have come via SAU have in fact been from surrounding parishes - but no similar seals recorded here either. See confidential note.
