December 1995. Watching Brief.
Observation of Anglian Water pipeline on the line of Riverside Road.
Trenches revealed Victorian structures; Hewett and Co Ltd ( a fishing company in the 19th century, including an ice house) with foundations to a depth of two metres below modern road surface.
Modern concrete sea wall to a depth of two metres.
These features have heavily disturbed the underlying deposits.
