Summary

Metal detecting recovered part of a late medieval iron knife. The tang of the iron blade had been covered with a bronze tube with unusual decoration.

Fragment of iron knife blade with circular section tang; later covered with a bronze tube with end furthest from blade in form of coxcomb/zigzag decorated with bands of herringbone. Late medieval (very unusual).
