Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting recovered a concentration of prehistoric burnt flints at this site. This concentration might be a prehistoric burnt mound. Other finds included two prehistoric flint flakes, fragments of Iron Age and medieval pottery and a post medieval knob or handle. Metal-detecting in 2025 recovered a Roman coin.

No significant metal detected finds.
Rather blank field (stubble, good visibility).

Context 2 at 8530 1462.
Pot boiler spread.
Post medieval knob/handle.
Body sherd abraded sandy reduced with ?a groove, probably Iron Age.
Two flint flakes (one incomplete, recent break), both long, narrow and with some context, bluish white patination, slight retouch/edge damage. Undated prehistoric.

Context 3. 100m south from north edge, 30m east from west edge
One scrap reduced slightly gritty, two grooves, ?Iron Age.
One body sherd probably medieval unglazed, sandy reduced with oxidised exterior.

Context 4. 80m east of northwest corner, 10m south of north edge.
One body sherd probably medieval unglazed, reduced sandy with part oxidised exterior.
