Summary

Metal detecting here in 1996 recovered a very nice medieval casket mount. The almost square panel had a fleur-de-lys depicted against a blue enamel background.

April 1996. Metal detector find.
Very nice medieval, probably 13th century, casket mount, bent. Pointed knob next to rivet hole at one end. Almost square panel with fleur-de-lis against blue enamel ground. Iron rivet with very large sub-rectangular rove at other. Space between back of bar and rove is about 1.5mm. Length 53mm.
