February 1997. Metal detector find.
Fragment thickish bronze sheet, curving but partly damaged outer edge, curving inner edge. One surface silver and decorated with two spirals, of a running spiral design, probably once enamelled. Perhaps part of a hanging bowl escutcheon with central aperture. Early Saxon/Middle Saxon 7th century.
