Summary

Fieldwalking and metal-detecting at this location between 1995 and 2024 recovered potentially Early Neolithic, Neolithic, Bronze Age and undatable prehistoric worked flints; Iron Age, Roman, medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; a piece of post-medieval clay pipe; undatable copper alloy waste; Roman and medieval coins and a number of other, undatable, Roman and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include an undatable copper alloy ring and lead weights; Roman brooches and a decorative furniture stud; medieval buckles, a brooch, copper alloy cooking vessel fragment and lead ampulla; a medieval/post-medieval copper alloy probable vessel fragment and a post-medieval buckle, crotal bell, toy or model cannon and lead cloth seal.

December 1995-January 1996. Metal-detecting. [3].
Late medieval ring brooch with unusual pin looped round narrowing in bar. Pin with disk decorated with central roundel rosette in relief, gilded. (If the pin had been found separately might be interpreted as early post-medieval hooked tag.)

1998. Metal-detecting. [4].
Blade-like undatable prehistoric flint flake, edge damage (probably mechanical) but possibly retouched at right near the distal end. Fragment of cast copper alloy foot from medieval cooking vessel.
Roman greyware sherds (one reburnt part red), Iron Age flint gritted sherd.
Late medieval transistional sherd.
Coper alloy waste, weighing 9.2g.
Foot of a Roman brooch, fairly chunky half oval section bow with fresh break, tapers to simple point. No decoration. Remains of catchplate now rather corroded and with old breaks. 1st century. (S1) at NCM.
Piece of copper alloy sheet, a tapering tube squashed flat and with two rectangular holes for rivets. Perhaps part of a 'paper clip'. Medieval vessel repair patch.
