Summary

Metal detecting here in 1995 recovered a Roman Dolphin brooch. This example had a large head decorated with three rope-style panels on each wing and punched-dot decoration along the bow.

Roman brooch. Dolphin type with hinge mechanism. Large head decorated with three rope-style panels on each wing, with fluting between. Elaborate punched-dot decoration along bow. 1st century AD.
