Examination of available aerial imagery for proposed route of Anglian Water Etton/Grantham to Bexwell pipeline.
A series of broad east-to-west and north-to-south aligned boundaries are visible on (S1) and more recent Google Earth aerial imagery (S2). This system of boundaries can be seen to have extended to the north, where they demarcated blocks of probable turbaries (peat cuttings) - see NHER 31432.

November 2021-March 2022. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of site on route of Anglian Water Grantham to Bexwell pipeline.
One of the excavated trenches coincided with a short east-to-west aligned cropmark recorded as part of this group. This was found to coincide with three similarly-aligned ditches but unfortunately no dating evidence was recovered. Two trenches revealed in a nearby trench were also undated.
