Summary

An 18th century Gothic cottage, which may have been designed by Sir John Soane. The outbuildings, which include a washhouse and a stable, are built of clay lump and brick.

Lodge Cottage and outbuildings, Letton Park.
Pair of cottages, now one, as late 18th or early 19th century, possibly by Soane.
Rendered brick, black glazed pantile roof, central stack.
Gothick; symmetrical 2 storeys 2 bays of Y tracery windows, doors far left and right.
Central projecting porch with stepped gable has side doors and evidence of former central arch.
Stepped gables with quatrefoils and full height Y tracery windows.
Rear outshut.
Interior with chamfered beams and winding stairs.

Outbuilding range.
Red brick, flint and rendered clay lump; contains 2 wash houses with fittings,
and stable.
Suggested as by Soane as he built Letton Hall 1783 to 9, and designed similar Gothick cottages at Wimpole in 1791. However, clay lump has not been definitely recorded in Norfolk before 1800.
