Summary

Metal detecting in this area during 1996-2004 recovered a variety of objects. Finds included Roman brooches and over eighty coins, a possible Middle Saxon dress fitting, part of a Late Saxon strap fitting, a medieval ampulla and a post medieval finger ring. In addition, the cropmarks of a ring ditch exist in this field (see NHER 17364).

Late medieval/early post medieval vessel rim with rivet hole.
Tri-lobed early post medieval belt mount, two spikes on reverse.
Roman brooch foot, cast transverse ridges and a small delicate 'flared' terminal. Very long and slender. Possibly Hod Hill.
