Summary

Willowbeck House is a hall house, probably dating to the 15th century, with a fragment of crownpost roof. The chimney stack seems, most unusually, to have been inserted in the low end of the hall, probably at first as a clay firehood. This and the upper storeys are of late 17th century date. The chimney stack was rebuilt in brick in the mid 18th century, a subdivision took place in the 19th century, and restoration took place in the 1980s.
