Summary

Fieldwalking here in 1996 recovered several prehistoric flints and sherds of Middle Saxon and medieval pottery. Subsequent metal detecting at this site in 2002 recovered a variety of metal objects including a Bronze Age button, fifty-three Roman coins, medieval buckles, a post-medieval cloth seal and weight made from copper alloy. Geophysical and fieldwalking surveys between 2002 and 2003 detected pit-like features and remains of ridge and furrow ploughing and recovered flint flakes and ceramic building material.
