Summary

Metal detecting between 1996 and 2018 recovered medieval coins; a post-medieval jetton and a number of other metal objects, including a Roman terret and copper alloy stud; a Roman to medieval unusual zoomorphic unidentified object and a medieval strap end, lead ampulla and lead papal bulla.

September/October 1996. Metal detecting find. [1].
Strap end made from three plates rivetted together, with acorn knop with trilobed terminal. Front and spacer plates are openwork, and top has engraved decoration based on a fleur-de-lis. Three rivets secure the strap, and one secures the spacer. One other rivet through thickening plates near knop.

2 medieval coins, an incomplete lead ampulla and a lead papal bulla of Gregory IX (AD 1227 - 1241).

Roman dropped-bar terret.
Roman to medieval zoomorphic unidentified object. The object consists of a hollow copper alloy tapering socket, the end of which is in the form of a gaping animal head with swept back ears, possibly a dog.
