Summary

Metal-detecting between 1996 and 2021 recovered Roman and medieval pottery sherds; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; a post-medieval token and a number of other, Late Iron Age/Roman to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Late Iron Age/Roman copper alloy bead; a Roman brooch and possible key or knife fragment; an Early Saxon brooch fragment and wrist clasp; a Late Saxon brooch, finger ring or earring, stirrup terminal, stirrup-strap mount and Anglo-Scandinavian silver ingot; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories (including a post-medieval silver dress hook); a medieval mount, copper alloy and lead seal matrices, lead ampulla and lead pot mend; a medieval/post-medieval stud from a chafing dish or cupboard door, copper alloy probable vessel repair rivet and copper alloy ring and a post-medieval sword-belt mount, hooked attachment for spur leather, key, knife handle, crotal bell and copper alloy nail.
