Full Description
Autumn 1996. Metal detecting find. [1].
Decorative mount. Three triangular arms end in collared terminals, fourth has three rows of relief dots above a break. In centre is a round boss with four holes around blocked by iron corrosion. Iron staining across much of object. Reverse has two attachment rivets. Precise function unknown, but shape and central openwork are reminiscent of Late Saxon brooches. Possibly a dress fitting.
