Common 1940 type 22 pill box facing north in hedge to south of A47.
Many bricks gone.
Survey No. K2-16.

A type 22 Second World War pillbox described above is visible as an extant structure on aerial photographs (S1-S2). On 1940s aerial photographs a probable Second World War slit trench can be seen as an earthwork (since levelled) a few metres to the east of the pillbox (NHER 68862) and the two were presumably associated. The pillbox remains visible as an extant structure on aerial photographs from 2022.
