D. Walker (NLA), July 1996.
October 2002. Norfolk NMP.
Site formerly described as concrete debris in this location. The site has been extended to include several World War Two military structures identified on RAF aerial photographs from 1940 (S2), 1952 (S3) and 1953 (S4). These were all positioned on top of the post medieval sea bank. These include a hexagonal type 22 pillbox at TG 0956 4400. This pillbox may be the same as the remains identified from a single bank approximately 150m to the northeast (NHER 19442). To the immediate south of this pillbox is an L-shaped structure, centred on TG 0956 4398 and measuring 6m by 4.5m. This is likely to be a further pillbox (possibly a type 20) or gun emplacement. Further along the sea bank to the south is a small structure (1.5m across). This appears to be circular on the 1952 aerial photographs, however, after the storms in 1953, the structure appears to have been square, probably originally dug in to some extent. Two linear features are also visible running from TG 0957 4397 to TG 0959 4394 and from TG 0958 4397 to TG 0960 4394. The actual structure of these is not clear. They appear to be walls or partitions on either side of the bank. These defensive positions are part of a chain of guns and pillbox all along the Salthouse and Weybourne coast, many of which have since been destroyed by the sea and subsequent phases of sea bank repair and construction.

March 2004, Norfolk NMP.
NHER 38493 to the immediate northeast contains several World War Two pillboxes and gun emplacements, originally situated on the post-medieval sea bank (NHER 27805). It is likely that these concrete fragments relate to these structures, most of which are now destroyed by coastal erosion.
