Common type 22 pillbox, date 1940. Positioned in gateway. Oil tank on top. [1]

The World War Two Type 22 pillbox described above is visible as an extant structure (prior to the oil tank being situated on top of it, see above) on aerial photographs, including (S2). It is located at TG 1014 0144, where it is depicted by modern Ordnance Survey mapping, rather than at TG 1015 0145 as previously recorded.
