A Second World War pillbox (see above) can be seen as a structure on 1940s aerial photographs (S2). The pillbox can also be seen well on aerial photographs from 1971 (S3) and 2006 (S4). The pillbox is still visible as an extant structure on recent (2017) aerial photographs. The pillbox appears to be hexagonal in from on the aerial photographs and may have related to a Type 22 pillbox. The monument polygon has been updated to the extent of the feature as seen on the recent (2017) aerial photographs (S5) and the modern Ordnance Survey mastermap.
