A World War Two spigot mortar emplacement can be seen on RAF 1941 aerial photographs (S1 to S2). It was located at NGR TG1566 4350, at the end of a garden overlooking the beach. The emplacement no longer survives as it was buried under a terrace in about 1993. Also it cannot easily be determined on any photography subsequent to that listed.
