Summary

A survey in 1996 noted that one large common anti-tank block, built in 1940, survived under a railway bridge in Bungalow Lane.

Photographic survey conducted by C. Kolonko (HES). Anti-Tank Block placed on the South side of the railway bridge on Bungalow Lane, Thorpe Saint Andrew. Located to restrict traffic movement under the bridge. The Anti-Tank Block was constructed using wooden shuttering.
Dimensions of the Anti-Tank Block: 127cm in height. 151cm in width. 206cm diagonally.
Also recorded a triangular metal plate that has been fitted to the North side of the Anti-Tank Block. This metal plate may have been used to mount a barrier, which would correspond with a hole in the railway bridge wall. May also have been used to mount a lamp.
Dimensions of the metal plate: Bottom: 21cm. Sides:13cm.
