1940, type 22 pill box situated on east promenade.
Now demolished.
Survey No. D3-28.

Central grid reference of pillbox moved from TG 2219 4218 to TG 2217 4219.

A World War Two type 22 pillbox is visible on aerial photographs on the east promenade by Gangway, Cromer (S2 and S3). This gun position sits in front of a line of beach scaffolding defence (NHER 38832) and is located 140m east along the promenade to another possible type 22 pillbox (NHER 38833). Further possible pillboxes and gun emplacements are located at the top of the cliff immediately to the south (NHER 38834). The pillbox no longer remains on the promenade.
