Summary

Archaeological observations at this site in April 1997 recorded a post medieval floor foundation as well as a medieval flint and mortar wall footing - possibly part of the rectory associated with the ruined church of St Margaret. Some post medieval glass and an iron chisel was also retrieved from here.

April 1997. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of a large pit and trenches excavated to accommodate a fibre-glass cess tank and associated drainage pipes within the back garden of 22 The Street, West Raynham.
A post-medieval floor foundation for a workshop or outbuilding was found as well as a medieval flint and mortar wall footing - possibly part of the rectory associated with the ruined church of St Margarets.
Post medieval glass and iron chisel.

A watching brief in 1997 recovered evidence of a medieval building, possibly associated with the church.
The site is a vegetable plot at the time of the photograph, no remains visible.
