Full Description
April 1997. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of a large pit and trenches excavated to accommodate a fibre-glass cess tank and associated drainage pipes within the back garden of 22 The Street, West Raynham.
A post-medieval floor foundation for a workshop or outbuilding was found as well as a medieval flint and mortar wall footing - possibly part of the rectory associated with the ruined church of St Margarets.
Post medieval glass and iron chisel.

A watching brief in 1997 recovered evidence of a medieval building, possibly associated with the church.
The site is a vegetable plot at the time of the photograph, no remains visible.
