January 2006. Norfolk NMP.
The above ground components of the underground World War Two ammunition store are clearly visible on aerial photographs (S4-S6). The ramp leading down to the sub-surface stores is visible, as is the rectangular vent or chimney structure located to the south side of the ramp. Two small circular features are also visible within the grass, these are also assumed to be vents. No associated mound is visible, indicating that the entire structure is completely underground. No trace of the World War One gun emplacement was visible on the aerial photographs.
S. Massey (NMP), 27 January 2006.
