Summary

A very rare 1940 spigot mortar emplacement and weapon pit remains at this location. One of only two in Norfolk, it has a hexagonal pedestal and corrugated iron shuttering marks.

A very rare weapon pit and spigot mortar gun emplacement. One of only two in Norfolk, it has a hexagonal pedestal and corrugated iron shuttering marks. Date 1940.

This structure now falls within the extended scheduled area of the priory, NHER 5748. It is not mentioned in the schedule description but neither is it listed among those features excluded.
