Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting in this area during 1997 recovered prehistoric flint artefacts, prehistoric burnt flints, Roman and medieval pottery sherds and a post medieval buckle. The excavation of a trial trench revealed a post medieval ditch and an undated feature.

July 1997. Fieldwalking and Metal-detecting Survey and Trial Trench.
Evaluation on site of proposed extension to CPS Fuels depot.
Field survey recovered Roman sherds, a post-medieval buckle, potboilers, flints and slag.
The single trial trench exposed only three undated and post-medieval features.
