Summary

Fieldwalking and metal-detecting at this location between 1996 and 2020 recovered undatable prehistoric flint flakes and a scraper; Roman and medieval and/or post-medieval pottery sherds; a post medieval roof tile; Roman coins and a number of other, Early Saxon, Late Saxon and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include an Early Saxon brooch fragment; a Late Saxon strap end; a medieval buckle and annular brooch fragment; a medieval/post-medieval book clasp and copper alloy vessel fragments and post-medieval buckles, a harness mount, crotal bell and hinge plate. A concentration of potentially prehistoric burnt flint 'pot boilers' was also identified.

This describes a large pot boiler concentration; however there is no mention of any tiles, and the medieval sherds are in
fact post-medieval.
