Summary

This house dates to around 1600. It is constructed from a timber frame and has a thatched roof with an off centre chimneystack. The building has several outshuts with either tile or thatched roofs. A number of internal beams, braces and trusses are visible and it appears that the house has not been heavily altered over the years.

House of around 1600. Timber framed, thatched, off centre chimneystack. Outshuts with tile roofs and brick stacks; thatched outshut to rear. One wallpost with exposed tenon visible. Chamfered bridging beam to west room with ogee stops at chimneystack. Chamfered transverse beam to east room which is longer. Roof has two queenpost trusses forming stack bay; some purlins survive. One 18th century truss with collar nailed and jointed to principals. One truss with short principals connected by collar. Crossed bracing, 18th century? A comparatively little altered house.
