Summary

Excavation in 1997 revealed a Late Saxon to Early medieval ditch and post hole building, as well as activity through the medieval and post medieval period. Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval pottery fragments were also found, as well as animal bone and fired clay.

Detailed report in file (S3) describes Late Saxon/Medieval ditch and posthole, medieval pit and well. 16th to 17th century buildings of Church Farm. Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval pottery, animal bone and shell, fired clay.
