Summary

Metal-detecting and fieldwalking in 1997 and 2005 recovered Late Mesolithic and undatable prehistoric worked flints; Roman pottery sherds and coins; a post-medieval floor tile and an undatable stone hone.

July/August 1997. Metal detecting and fieldwalking finds. Field containing NHER 6565, 17942 and 18061.
No significant metal finds.
23 sherds Roman pottery sherds (1 thickish oxidised sherd and 22 greyware, including 1 bowl/dish rim, 6 jar rims and 1 base).
1 post-medieval or later very worn floor tile.
1 undatable hone fragment and 1 hard-fired brick fragment.

4 Roman coins.

April/May 2005. Fieldwalking. Site extended to north-east half of field.
1 Late Mesolithic flint blade core.
25 undatable prehistoric flint flakes, 4 blades and blade-like flake, 1 core trimming flake, 4 multi-platform irregular cores, 1 piercer, 1 thumbnail scraper, 2 end scrapers, 1 side scraper and 1 miscellaneous retouched piece.
