Summary

Metal detecting at this location in 1996 recovered a Roman cosmetic pestle as well as several medieval metalwork pieces. The finest medieval item was a horse harness pendant in the shape of an eight-point star with the fleur-de-lis decoration quartered with lions.

1996. Metal detecting finds.
Medieval horse harness pendant in the shape of an eight-point star with the top point extended to form the loop. ?? decoration of the arms of France Ancient (fleur-de-lis) quartered with the arms of England (lions). Arms current from 1340-1400. Drawing (S3) in file.
Medieval gilded Limoges-style buckle frame decorated with panels of rocker arm engraving. Pin bar missing.
