Summary

Metal detecting at this location in 1996 retrieved a range of medieval metal objects consisting of a vessel escutcheon, lead biconical spindlewhorl and incomplete pilgrim's ampulla with a scalloped shell and crowned letter for decoration.

1996. Metal detector finds.
Medieval vessel escutcheon.
Lead biconical spindlewhorl, decorated with roughly scratched lines. 16.5g weight.
Incomplete pilgrim's ampulla. Scallop shell design on one side, other crosshatched with a very worn ?crowned letter. Polaroid taken by NCM.
