E. Rose (NLA), 24 October 1997.

(S5) states that Wootton Road post mill stood on the east side of Gaywood Road in what later became the northern suburbs of King's Lynn. The mill was quite small and ran a single pair of French burr stones. A towermill stood on the same site although it is probable that the postmill was older and was converted from common sails to patent sails in 1819. (S6) states that the brick tower mill was of four storeys with an ogee cap. The four patent sails, each with six bays of three shutters powered three pairs of French burr stones, a flour machine and a flour mill. In 1888 three fields around the mill were auctioned as land for building.
According to (S6) The tower mill was carefully demolished by hand around 1920 and transported to Holland. A painting of 1933 shows the mill tower without a cap and roofed, and by 1934 the base of the tower had been incorporated into a house.
See (S5) and (S6) for further information.
