Full Description
1997. Metal detector find.
Late 10th/11th century cast bronze scabbard chape. Centre 'clasp' possibly depicting a birds head. Pierced cusps at either side. One pair only surviving with one long stud in place. Long side lappets. Basal knob interlace design on both faces.

1998. Metal detecting.
Found by [1] at location [3]. Medieval jetton. See list in file. Identified by J. A. Davies (NCM).
Found by [1] at location [4]. Post medieval small cast bronze ?handle. Hollow, domed, with small projection on top and floral decoration all over. Broken at the base. Possibly the handle from a small brush/bell or even a candle snuffer. Identified by K. Sussams (NCM).
Found by [2] at location [5]. Medieval Ae seal matrix. Circular, bronze; haxagonal handle ending in a trefoil loop. Seal impression is a cockeral in profile. Around the edge are the words: IE SV SEL NVIT - I am the seal of the night. (?For morning letters; the end of the night time; cock-crow etc?). Identified by K. Sussams (NCM).
