Summary
Metal detecting in this area during 1996 recovered a variety of objects. Finds of note included Roman coins, a Middle Saxon buckle, a Late Saxon/medieval strap fitting and part of a vessel, a medieval lead seal matrix and medieval copper alloy crucifix.

1996. Metal detecting.
Middle Saxon buckle.
Late Saxon/Medieval strap fitting and vessel foot.
Medieval lead seal matrix, belt fitting, strap end, casket fitting, possibly mortuary cross.
Early post medieval button.
Details in file. Identified by H. Geake (NCM), 1996.
Seven medieval coins.
