Summary

This icehouse was one of the first two icehouses for fishing use in Great Yarmouth and Gorleston on Sea. It was constructed in 1853 by Hewitts of Barking and had 6000 tons capacity. It was demolished about 1900 though one wall survived until it was knocked down during World War Two bombing.

Constructed 1853 by Hewitts of Barking. 6000 tons capacity. Demolished about 1900 though one wall survived until World War Two bombing. Dock Tavern Lane to south was formerly Old Icehouse Road.
