Unusual form of late medieval/early post medieval clasp. Bascially rectangular, with one shaped end with three rivet holes each surrounded by circular groove. Other end seems originally to have had a rectangular opening with a square of thinner metal around it, enabling a bar to be passed through and turned to lock. Decoration similar to that on book clasps. ?From sword belt.
