Summary

Metal detecting at this location in 1996 and 2003 recovered a selection of multi period metal objects. The most interesting finds were a later medieval dagger guard and a post medieval closure or lock, possibly for a book.

Later medieval dagger guard (quillon type) with terminal knobs, slightly drooping as (S1) Fig.8, No.1. Solder scars of applied ?silver sheet and similar on sides.
At location [2]:
Strap end and ?closure/lock for a book? ?Post medieval
At location [3]:
Weight (4.36gm). Cube (8mm3) with faceted corners. Six large faces each with six ring-and-dot within engraved line around edge. Small facets each (eight) with one ring-and-dot, medieval.
