Summary

Fieldwalking recovered medieval and post medieval pottery from the projected line of an undated roadway. Metal-detecting in this area in 2017 recovered a medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel foot.

1998. Fieldwalking to southeast of park on either side of projected road line seen as hollow way within the grassland of park.
General spread of medieval sherds with a particular concentration centred on site Context 2 at 4152 9200.
Pottery identified by A. Rogerson (NLA).
Medieval unglazed. Three bowl, one jar and three uncertain rims.
Eight bases, fifty three body sherds.
One glazed Grimston body sherd.
One probable medieval glazed.
Late medieval/transitional base.
