Summary

The origin of Brook House is a timber framed house, apparently dating to the early 17th century, now contained within a mid 19th century brick mansion of unusual appearance. As a consequence of this, the plan of the original house is very hard to make out. There are various subsidiary buildings, which probably all date to the 19th century.
