Full Description
Norfolk Historic Gardens Survey grade two star (regional importance).
After arrival of the railway in 1887 a wide Boulevard was constructed to link the station with the sea front; this was lined with poplars in 1906 and the circular St. Nicholas's Gardens made in the centre where the road changes alignment. Strip of land on cliff top called Grand Lees and Burlington Lees. Lavatories and ornamental bridge made 1907. War memorial in St Nicholas's Gardens 1928. Gardens improved and Grand Lees 'developed' with rockeries etc. 1958 to 1960. Windows of lavatories in stained glass with marine subjects but those of shelters blocked up.

Monument erected in 1921 to comemorate the 75 soldiers from Sherringham and Beeston Regis who died in the First World War. 26 feet tall, Clipsham stone hexagonal Gothic 'Elenor' cross.
