Summary

In 1998 a large spread of pottery fragments including medieval glazed Grimston Ware and post medieval brick/tile and Glazed Red Earthenware fragments were recovered from here. This site was probably a toft overlooking the valley floor, continuing in use well into the post medieval period.

1998. Network of drainage ditches, well defined and maintained and possibly part of spring field, is situated to the north of one rectangular ditched enclosure which has a roughly T-shaped building platform.
Considerable spread of post medieval brick/tile and Glazed Red Earthenware fragments (possibly a few late medieval tile with two fragments of Glazed Grimston Ware in molehills, one a scrape).
Probable toft overlooking valley floor, continuing well into post medieval period. Long grass precludes detailed analysis.
