Summary

A 1946 aerial photograph shows a series of irregular scrapes in pasture to the east of the sea bank. These could be for widfowl ponds or clay extraction, but might possibly be fishponds or salt workings.

RAF air photograph shows series of irregular scrapes in rough pasture east of sea bank. At least four more rectangular small ponds with leats.

1998.
Visit confirmed their existence as very degraded depressions with slight mounds near to east boundary drain.
Probable scrapes for wildfowl ponds or clay extraction. Unconvincing as partial remnants of fish ponds or salt working, but not impossible. Difficult to justify restriction on usage, if relevant, but might be worth an 'unofficial' watching brief!
