Summary

This is a complex building structure, the earliest parts of which date from the late 17th century. Three separate buildings can be identified - 9 to 11 White Hart Street, a barn and a linking block between the house and the barn. The development of the block was complex. It is possible that the link block was built first in the mid to late 17th century, or perhaps as an extension to an earlier structure on the site of No. 9 to 11. The barn was then built around 1700 as a separate building. It was later extended to join the link block and parts of it were rebuilt in brick. It is unclear when No 9 to 11 was constructed but parts of it are connected to the link block and then later covered with a brick facade that dates to around 1788. During the 19th century various extensions and alterations to the roof and the interior of the buildings took place.

Remains of timber framed building in link between house and barn. Barn apparently once timber framed, now mostly of early 18th century brick; good quality roof. Remaining wall of barn replaced in 19th century. House dated 1788, with 19th century additions, but evidence that the core may be contemporary with the older work in the link.
