Full Description
May/June 1998. Metal detecting.
One medieval coin.
One post medieval token, one post medieval jetton.
See list in file.
Remains of medieval bronze rectangular buckle plate, five rivet holes, pin slot and frame recesses. Broken at fold, traces of gilding but no other decoration.
Hook part of a late medieval/early post medieval bronze book clasp. Long, very slender plate with shaped flared end at which are two bronze rivets, then three larger ?decorative holes. Whole plate has finely grooved decoration, at narrow end a third bronze rivet still retains part of an underplate (which has curious hook opposite main plate's hook). Beyond this plate widens and is decorated with transverse grooves, then narrows to hook.
