E. Rose (NLA) 14 September 1998.

Documentary evidence has produced a date of 1532 for the house. Further details of the structure later exposed.
See further report (S2).
E. Rose (NLA) 18 December 1998.

Further work now suggests the 1532 house was aligned east-west and around 1600 a parlour and stack added at right angles; around 1700 the hall and services of the original were demolished and a new north end was added to change the alignment.
See further report (S3).

26 October 1999. Trial Trench.
Excavation of trench across the postulated demolished section of the house revealed no traces of it, but present house was found to stand on a small rise, so older ground surfaces may have been eroded.
See report (S6) for further details.
