Summary

Metal detecting here in 1998 and 2002-03 recovered a range of multi period metal objects. Some of the artefacts found included an Early Saxon brooch, Roman votive axe and a medieval lead plaque - perhaps used as a ceiling ornament.

Reidentification of medieval dagger pommel (found December 1998) since it was discovered in Bronze Age/Iron Age deposits.
Identified as 'moustaches' by I. Stead (British Museum) (S1).
As yet no idea what they are!
