1977. Opposite 167-169 King Street. Gas trench dug along the length of King Street.
One sherd of developed Stamford ware found in the spoil from the trench outside the 12th century 'Music House'. [1]
There was considerable modern disturbance in the section of the trench to around 75cm almost onto natural with no old road surface showing.
